How Long Do I Need to Charge the S1 Hardware Wallet Device?
A 5V 1A charger can charge the battery fully in 2-3 hours. The time might be longer if you use a smaller charger. We recommend charging it during the night time when you sleep, thus there won’t be any inconvenience.
How long can an S1 hardware wallet sustain after it’s fully charged? What if I don’t charge it for a long time?
The battery SafePal S1 hardware wallet uses is a lithium battery. Assume that a user uses a SafePal S1 wallet for 10 minutes per day, the device can sustain around 20 days after it’s fully charged.
Since the battery is a lithium one, one of the natures of a lithium battery is that, if you don’t charge it regularly, the battery life would reduce gradually. In order to maintain the best working condition of the lithium battery, we recommend charging the SafePal wallet at least once every 3 months.
Even if the battery is out of service eventually, the SafePal S1 device can still function normally by plugging into a computer using a USB cable.
Is it possible to pair the SafePal S1 hardware wallet with other apps?
The SafePal hardware wallet is 100% offline and cannot interact with the blockchain, so it needs to be paired to the SafePal App via scan encrypted QR code. After you pair the SafePal hardware wallet with SafePal App, you only need to check the balance on the SafePaL App.
So the scanning mechanism on the SafePal S1 decides that it has to work with a software end.
The adoption of an encrypted QRcode is for privacy purposes, preventing any third party from reading it and getting your account and address details. The encryption will make sure that only the SafePal S1 and SafePal App can understand each other and decode the necessary information.
Therefore, the SafePal hardware wallet cannot be paired with other Apps except SafePalApp.
I recovered a wallet on a SafePal S1 device but it doesn't show all of my coins. Did I lose my coins? How do I track them back?
There might be two reasons why you don’t see all of your coins from the SafePal App:
Reason 1 The coin/token is not manually added to the App
Check in the SafePal App and see if the missing coins/tokens have been added to the asset list. If not, kindly follow this guide to add the coins/tokens to the list.
Reason 2 The coin/token isn’t supported by the SafePal wallet yet
