The beans at Intelligentsia are frequently smaller and finer in size than other roasters like Groundwork and GGET, but my favorite part of Intelligentsia is that all the beans are freshly roasted, and quickly sells out. I don't think I've seen any bags more than a few days old! Useful10. Funny8.

 · 1.0 out of 5 stars Beans look old, taste old. October 19, 2017. Very very disappointing. I was in Vegas last week and we stopped at a restaurant at the Paris hotel and casino for breakfast, called Mon a Mi Gabe. They serve the most delicious cup of intelligentsia coffee.

 · As bright as the sun. Originally, I pulled a few shots that had some sweetness. I definitely tasted the honeydew note Intelligentsia labeled their bag with in the first few shots I pulled, but that didn't hold up. My shots got progressively more citrusy (bordering on sour) as I tested different temperatures.

Intelligentsia is my favorite, but buying these beans through Amazon is a bit of a boondoggle. First purchase, the roast date was three weeks prior to delivery. Second purchase, over a month. This appears to be Intelligentsia unloading expired product at full price. I thought they were better than that.

We’ve ordered 6+ different coffee beans so far and this in the first review I am writing. Not that the others weren’t good, but this Intelligentsia Black Cat Classic Espresso coffee produced a great cream, with a silky smooth chocolate & cherry taste that made the both of us immediately go back to make more. Blind Assessment: Heavy, rich, a touch sharp, but balanced in the small cup, complicated nicely by dry fruit and cocoa. Maintains balance and authority in small milk, where the cocoa sweetens toward a voluptuous hazelnut-toned chocolate. Fades a bit in big milk, though still round and chocolaty.
