After a long cold winter, the first festival of spring is Easter. Due to the current restrictions on group gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there is no doubt that Easter will be a little different this year. Maybe your community egg hunt is cancelled, but that does not mean you can not have a fabulous holiday.
Why not bring a little brightness to these trying times and plan some active Easter egg hunt for your family at home? For the littlest Easter bunnies in your home, this is a high time to play with family members, track down Easter eggs and, naturally, an excellent excuse to revel in (almost) as much chocolate as they want.
If you stay joyful, your little people will tracksuit. You do not need to go overboard with decorations and party supplies. This year, why not concentrate on having a stress-free day together? To make your Easter Sunday full of fun, we have come with some ideas on how you can celebrate an egg hunt on Easter at home with your love ones and dear ones. So without wasting any more time here and there, let us dive into the article and find out a new way to celebrate the easter egg hunt.
Easter egg hunt
This one is a classic. You’ve seen it, you have done it—we know you are a pro. But what if we changed it up a little bit to suit a shorter group this year? We have come up with a few ideas for your smaller-scale Easter egg hunt that the entire family can enjoy:
- Turn your egg hunt into a treasure hunt! Set clues inside the eggs to find the next one, and motivate kids to a big stash of chocolate. Customize this game to suit your family’s attention: if your kids fancy numbers to words, write simple math problems to be solved to get the next clue or a chocolate prize. Or tie the clues to sports trivia, geography questions related to places you have travelled to, animal facts, word games, goofy jokes, puns, or riddles!
- What’s new at the zoo? Paint or print pictures of baby animals and set one in each egg. Each time your child gets an egg, have them “hatch” into the animal and linger in character, moving like an animal, from egg to egg. Preschoolers will particularly enjoy sliding like a snake, flying like a bird, stomping like a baby elephant, running like a colt, and, of course, jumping like a bunny!
- Work together with neighbours to organize a community-wide social distancing Easter egg hunt: Challenge your children to draw Easter eggs or other Easter crafts and attach them in a window or on your door, where other egg-hunters can quickly spot them. When the day of the Easter egg hunt comes along, this is an excellent opportunity to get some fresh air and walk around the neighbourhood to spot as many Easter crafts as you can! You could even turn it into a friendly competition to see who can spot the most skills. Be sure to have six feet away from anyone who’s not a part of your household.
- Egg-cellent activities: Change your Easter egg hunt into an event to rediscover forgotten games, books, toys, and exercises for the family to do together in the coming weeks. Brainstorm ideas for anything you would like to do with your kids while at home, and write these feather on slips of paper (you can illustrate these for toddlers or preschoolers to “read”). Put one error inside each egg, and add them to an activity jar or basket as your children find the eggs. Next time the kids are tired or looking for a family activity, have them close their eyes and draw a surprise activity. It is a great way to scatter off Monopoly, revisit a classic Easter story you have been saving to read or ask the kids to a jump-rope contest outside.
- Hatch a story. Two ways to play:
- Write down words or short idioms on slips of paper and hide one inside each egg. When all the eggs have been located, work together to build a crazy short story using the words you assembled!
- Print out a short, simple report and cut out the articles. Construct the story like a puzzle — see if you can think out which parts happen first, second, third, and so on. If items are missing, you will know that some eggs have been left-back!
Final Word: By using the above tips and trick, you celebrate Egg Hunt on Easter with your family and friends in this COVID-19 situation. Also, celebrate Easter this year in a new way and by maintaing the social distancing as well. Happy Easter to all. Enjoy your day with your love ones.
